I am a student at Journalism Faculty at Alecu Russo Bălți State University (Republic of Moldova). More than six months I work as a reporter on Bălți TV (local television). In 2016 I worked as a correspondent in the project Adera Acum the topic of the project was about implementation of projects with international financing (school, kinder-garden reparing etc.). This project interested me as I have the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas with young journalists from Germany, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. Surely, we will discover something new while growing, we will change our vision as soon as we leave our comfort zone.

I was born in Marshyntsi, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine. Currently I am a second year student of a Master’s degree programme at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Ukraine. My major is the Romanian Language and Literature. I have always been interested in cross-border relations between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, as I belong to Moldovan minority in Ukraine. Furthermore, my job is related to the Republic of Moldova and Romania because I work at the International Office. Additionally, I have participated in scientific conferences and I published an article on the problem of the Romanian language in 2017. I have obtained a valuable international experience by participating in numerous summer schools and projects.

I study journalism at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. I chose this field of studying because I believe in power of information. One year ago I started working for Chernivtsi local Internet-media called Weche. The main peculiarity of this media is that it isn’t influenced and financed by any politician or businessman. This may sound strange but Ukrainian mass media suffers from political leverage a lot. Currently I work on a TV-channel called Bukovina. This job interests me because it’s an experimental media that is transforming into public broadcasting step-by-step. Here I can see the regeneration of outdated and unprofitable channel and I’m glad to be a part of a young team that is about to create a new epoch in Ukrainian media world. Currently, I am doing a Master’s degree in the Management of Media Institutions at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, at the State University of Moldova. Last year I have participated at two Higher Education exchange programs for students with Erasmus+ in Belgium and in Spain. My Bachelor’s thesis was based on the minor’s protection in the media, from legal framework to deontological ethics and also, during my studies for the bachelor degree I have done other researches among which: „Reportage tendencies in national press”. Among the seminars/trainings I have participated to, the most recent is “Coverage of the conflict in the media”. I am passionate about photojournalism and I have participated to the first edition of the International Documentary Film Festival for Social Change “MOLDOX”. Currently, I am working at Radio Moldova Tineret (a youth-oriented radio station) as the Editor Presenter for a daily morning informative program named “Free World”. Also, at the radio I have a rubric dedicated to youths who had studied abroad and returned to Moldova, in order to help developing our country. With my co-workers we are periodically organizing public debates on a variety of subjects concerning problems that youths are facing. I am an active volunteer in many projects: charitable, ecological, scientific, civic and also, since 2016 I am the Director of the External Relations Department of the NGO “Benevollence”.

I graduated the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, Moldova State University (Chișinău) in 2016. Since then, I have worked in journalism as a reporter. Now, I work for Moldova.org (reportaje.moldova.org – for long and video reports). I write about people rights, ecology, technology, corruption, feminism and other. Here you could see some of my articles. Also, I have made a video reportage about river Nistru and its problems. People said that the river is silting. Some fish species have disappeared. The level of water decreases every day so 8 million human beings (from Moldova and Ukraine) can remain without water. Also, I would like to tell you about another video report made by me for Moldova.org. It is about a mayor of a small village from Moldova. The head of the village is a woman that has developed the locality in seven years, in a fascinating way. So, all the citizens have only words of praise for her. Through these reports, we promote women who have developed their localities. We want to inspire other women to get involved in politics.

I was studying at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University at the Department of Journalism. At the end of June 2018, I got the Bachelor’s Degree. From the beginning of the studying, I am looking for different ways to deepen my knowledge and improve practical abilities. In 2016 I took part in the project “Escape and Fatherland: Ukrainian generation of refugees in historic dimensions” as part of the “Meet Up”. In cooperation between the Ukrainian and German students we created documentary about meaning of Fatherland for refugees. Over and above I participated in the Degree program from OTH Amberg-Weiden on the “Media Production and Media Technology” course of studying for the periods 1/Oct/2017 – 10/Feb/2018. From October 2016 until July 2018, I was working as a journalist for local information portal Weche.info. Now I am working for Shpalta Media Hub. I am creating news stories, investigations, taking pictures, making interviews, writing scenarios. You can find some of my works on our website shpalta-media and on weche.info (1), weche.info (2). I am aimed to be investigative journalist that helps to solve problems in the Ukrainian society, fight against corruption, reliably inform about events in Ukraine to foreign media and vice versa.

I’m originally from small town in Ternopil region. I studied “Programming” in local technical college and “Journalism and Crossmedia” at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi University for 4 years. I participated in “MeetUp” program in October-November 2016 and visited Germany, where I have got my first experience about film production. As a result of the project was a movie about Ukrainian refugees (youtube). I Studied “Media production and media technologies” during 4 months in Germany, where I have got more experience in the technical part of journalism. In June 2018 I got the “Bachelor of Journalism” degree in Ukraine. During studies I have started to work as a photographer in SMM industry and now working as a photographer and journalist in “Shpalta media”. Now I’m interested in multimedia production and want to get more experience in this field (another example of my project work).

I was born and grew up in the Ruhr area, which is known for its industrial culture. I have studied law in picturesque Tübingen and I am currently studying history and political science in Wuppertal, the city with the famous suspension railway. My first tentative steps as a journalist were at the local paper of my hometown with a story about a broken traffic light. Additional journalistic experiences followed, among others, at WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk), a public broadcaster, and RadioNRW, a radio station in North Rhine-Westphalia. During the last five years I have written mainly for the newspaper WZ (Westdeutsche Zeitung) on a freelance basis, especially book reviews and reports on local art and theater events. I am also interested in historical themes – one of my favourite jobs was a series of articles on Friedrich Engels, who is probably the most famous son of Wuppertal.

I was born in 1986 in Slovakia and as a three-year-old moved to Germany. Between 2006-2011 I completed a Franco-German double diploma program in Political Science and Communication and a Master’s degree in Journalism in Lille (France). From 2011, I started to work in a Hamburg-based film production company, where I research and develop various topics for documentaries. In 2013, I became a city writer in the European Capital of Culture Košice, where I realized my debut film about my Slovakian home town and Jewish family history. Since 2014 I work as an independent author and director in Hamburg. My documentaries and reports are broadcasted on public TV channels such as ARTE, 3sat, ZDF and SRF. I’m first and foremost interested in human beings: their backgrounds, their motivation and their stories. I prefer to produce documentaries about political and social changes of societies, I’m interested in the history and culture of nations as well as human rights, gender and environmental issues. I speak German, French, English and Slovak.

Currently I studying Eastern European culture and history at the Europe University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). During the past years I studied and worked also in Estonia, Moldova and Ukraine, therefore my academic and personal interest focus on the post-Soviet space. In my university I am specializing in Ukrainian history and politics and in my NGO GrenzenLos! we are realizing different Erasmus+projects in Caucasus region. Additionally I have been a vivid member in AEGEE, European Students Forum, for the past 8 years. Last semester I participated in creating the third issue of a German magazine called Ost Journal, which we accompanied from open call, proofreading, discussing layout until the print. To this issue I contributed an interview with a local historian on prisoners of war returning home. Moreover I am quite familiar with magazine projects from the region like La Boussole, NOUA magazine and The Odessa Review.

I am interested in foreign politics of Ukraine, solving ecological problems and can’t imagine how people lived without Google. Journalism is a paramount part of my life: I study at the journalism Department at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National, read books about journalism and work on the Internet-website Weche. Besides, I am an editor-in-chief (during 2 years) of student’s magazine of our university. Our team consists of 12 members from different departments and together we tell about the most important and interesting events that happen at our university. It’s really great at our online epoch to take away magazines from printing house and to feel the smell of paper and paint. I like books, football and trips, try to understand and love quantum mechanics, etc. to support conversation with my friends who study physics. Reference on Weche.

Recently I got a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism (Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University). In 2016 I participated in the program “MeetUp: Deutsch-Ukrainische Jugendbegegnungen” in the project “Escape and Fatherland: Ukrainian generation refugees in historic dimensions”. I studied media technology and media production at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH), Amberg, Bavaria (Germany) (01/10/2017 – 10/02/2018) and worked as a journalist at the information portal Weche.info, Chernivtsi (Ukraine) (12/02/2018 – 15/05/2018). I was born in Myshev, a small village in Volyn Oblast, Ukraine. I took my high school education at Novovolynsk Lyceum Boarding School. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism (Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University). I am currently working as a reporter at Bucovyna TV. Besides, I worked at such online-media as “Infokey”, “Your city. Chernivtsi” and “Shpalta”. Some of my references from infokey about medical and political issues (1) and (2).

This year I will graduate in political science and sociology at the LMU Munich. Even before my studies I started working as a journalist. I gained my first journalistic experience at the Straubinger Tagblatt. I reported on birthdays and golden weddings and learned that every person has an interesting story to tell. For the Mittelbayerische Zeitung I then looked independently for such people and stories and got interesting insights into different worlds. Since April 2015 I have also been working as an editor in the political department of Munich radio station M94.5. During my stay abroad I have been writing in English for a magazine in Copenhagen. I recently returned from my internship in Namibia, where I was able to report for a daily newspaper. Through my internship at the Allgemeine Zeitung in Namibia, I was able to find out for myself personally to what extent I want to pursue my professional goal as a correspondent. Rarely have I gained such an access to a culture and society through a stay abroad. Especially through the internship I have intensively dealt with the Namibian culture, this has encouraged me to pursue my professional goal as a foreign correspondent further.

I am studying Ukrainian and English languages at the Alecu Russo Bălți State University (Republic of Moldova) and I am interested in Journalism a lot. Since Moldova is a post-Soviet country as Ukraine, we have similar problems. Thanks to this project we can discuss about many topics that affect us. It is my first experience of an international collaboration with people from different countries. I am active and sociable person, and I am glad that I can participate in this project because I am interested in national minorities.

I am a Berlin based freelance photographer. Graduated 2012 in Photography and Media at the University of Applied Science in Bielefeld, I focus in my documentary-based projects on individual stories and portraiture. My curiosity towards Eastern Europe guided me to several residencies. 2009 I realized a photo project about young Russian students, their life reality and perspective in St. Petersburg, supported by a DAAD scholarship. After taking part at the three months Košice Artist in Residence Program in 2013, I returned 2015/16 several times to Eastern Slovakia. Together with the Austrian director and author of radio plays, Elisabeth Putz, I realized the exhibition project “Millionaires of time…”, supported by the Goethe-Institute, Deutschlandradio, ORF and Robert Bosch Stiftung. This audiovisual project portrays individuals from different Roma communities in the suburbs of Košice. It is combining audio portraits and photographs that visually depict the subjects through direct gaze with the audience, as well as images of places, atmospheres, situations, and personal belongings. The fifteen audio portraits are ranging from five to twelve minutes in which people share their life experiences, thoughts and dreams. It was exhibited at the Volkskundemuseum Vienna, Haus am Kleistpark Berlin, Austrian Cultural Forum Bratislava and at the Eastern Slovakian Gallery in Košice. My photographs were published in several print- and online media like Dagens Nyheter, TAZ, Missy Magazine and Deutschlandradio.

I grew up in Berlin, but right now I’m based in the German-Polish twin cities Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice. After school I worked at the radio channel „Hitradio SKW“ for 3 years and hosted radio shows. Currently I study Cultural Sciences at Viadrina University with a focus on history of Eastern Europe. I spent two semesters at St. Petersburg State University, where I studied International Relations and Sociology. During my stay in Russia I also taught German and worked in different language camps. Besides my studies at Viadrina I’m working as a journalist for „RBB-Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg“, mainly for their radio programme “Antenne Brandenburg”. Working for the regional studio, my focus is on news and events in East Brandenburg. A special interest of mine are the German-Polish relations in the border region. Last semester I participated at the excursion “Zapomniana Granica / Die vergessene Grenze 1918”. Here we dealt with the German-Polish border and its consequences for German and Polish minorities on both sides after the treaty of Versailles. During the excursion I wrote an essay for a book about the German-Polish border, which is going to be published in autumn 2018.

In 2018 I obtained BA in German Language and Literature, and BA in Journalism (part-time) from the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. I studied at Alpen-Adria-University in Klagenfurt (Austria) at the Department of Media and Communications Science as an exchange student (March – July 2017). While studying in Chernivtsi I passed three internships in local media, as a trainee journalist in the editorial offices of the newspapers “Va-bank” (November 2016) and “Pogliad” (February – March, 2018) as well as in the editorial office of the radio station ‘Radio 10’. Being interested in East-European politics and cultures, I took part in the Media workshop “Futurelab Bukowina 2016” (October 2016). In order to deepen my knowledge in this topic I studied at summer school for students from Middle and Eastern Europe “Region – Nation – Europe” held by the Baltic Academy (July 2018).
